Members Poltergeist
Hey guys. Tell me about your experiences with these amps. How is the clean headroom, and how does it take pedals? Thanks!
Members janimarj
Those things have 140 watts of power, I don't think you'll run out of headroom anytime soon. I have no experience on that particular amp, but I owned a AD30HTC for a few years. Orange amps are more dark than bright, I never had any problems with any pedals with the AD30. And it sounded great recorded, wow!

Members janimarj
i wonder how well they take pedals...i have no problem with Orange's dark cleans. What I meant with my previous comment was that darker amps usually work better with pedals (read: overdrive/fuzz) than the very bright ones. Members Dr.Pain-MD
AD140s are really wicked amps. They're known for their cleans and a lot of country guys even use them apparently. They don't get very distorted on their own, just a light to mid crunch AFAIK. I love 'em.

Members spoonie g
I toured with one for a while. Not as loud as you'd think. I think my 50-watt jcm 800 was perceivably louder in comparison. I would run it about 12-2 o'clock at most venues. My 2204, more like 10-12. It was a great sounding amp and I always got compliments on it. However, I liked it better with G12H30's than the Orange cab's stock V-30's, but that could just be because I dont like V-30's. They aren't gain monsters, but they're not a fender twin either. I'd say mine had a smidgen more gain than my jcm 800.
