Orange AD 140 HTC...

Those things have 140 watts of power, I don't think you'll run out of headroom anytime soon.

 

I have no experience on that particular amp, but I owned a AD30HTC for a few years. Orange amps are more dark than bright, I never had any problems with any pedals with the AD30. And it sounded great recorded, wow!

i have no problem with Orange's dark cleans.

 

 

What I meant with my previous comment was that darker amps usually work better with pedals (read: overdrive/fuzz) than the very bright ones.

I toured with one for a while. Not as loud as you'd think. I think my 50-watt jcm 800 was perceivably louder in comparison. I would run it about 12-2 o'clock at most venues. My 2204, more like 10-12.

It was a great sounding amp and I always got compliments on it. However, I liked it better with G12H30's than the Orange cab's stock V-30's, but that could just be because I dont like V-30's.

They aren't gain monsters, but they're not a fender twin either. I'd say mine had a smidgen more gain than my jcm 800.
