Members MKaneJeeves
I've been reading a lot on midi processors and Rolands and they always talk about an external expression pedal. Reeves had two, one attached to his VG-8 and one attached to his GR-09 synth. I'm a little confused as to what this it. Is it a wah or other effects that is outside of your other programmed effects? Is it an assignable pedal where you can make it a wah, volume pedal, tap tempo pedal, etc.? What is it so I can know what I'm reading when I see expression pedals used in these guitar articles. Thanks.
Members Reauchambeau
it's a CV (controlled voltage) pedal. it's just a pedal to control whatever parameter you assign to it.

Members mhuxtable
Yeah what eti said... To be more specific.... On a basic delay you have Delay Time, Feedback, Effect Level. In theory (it depends on the pedal) you could affect each of those with an expression pedal, which is like turning the knob but with a pedal using your foot. So you could rock the pedal back and forth and increase/decrease delay time, feedback, effect level etc. You could do this with any effect...phaser, trem, fuzz, EQ, ring mod, pitch shift, etc etc
