Members JMR
There's a rattling coming from the amp and it seems like the speakers are the culprit. I suspect this mostly because the speaker installed by the forumite I bought it from was a Green Back, which are only 25 watts, lower than the output of the amp. However, the amp sounded perfectly fine at the last practice. No rattling (except for a little bit of tube rattle). Today was the first time I'd played through since then. As so far as I know, that tear could've only happened while I was playing. The rattle increases especially if I turn up the bass or turn up the volume/boost the amp. What I want to know is A.) How likely is it that is something other than a torn speaker? B.) How easy is it to repair?C.) Should I just put in a higher power speaker and, if so, what would be a suitable replacement? Members juri
You should be able to hook it up to another cabinet to check if it's the speaker. http://www.satcure-focus.com/icetech/page2.htm From the article it seems it could be the problem, but they also suggest not going to high on the wattage of the speaker.
