Members barney steele
I currently have a SCOD that I use basically as the dirt channel on my amp because I don't have one. I also use an OCD as a low gain/fuzz boost. I was thinking about possibly picking up a plimsoul to do what the OCD and SCOD does but in one pedal. Thoughts? Members BAXANDALL
I have a Plimsoul OD and love it but I can't comment on the other part of your question because I don't have the other two pedals in your post. Sorry.
Members Dr.Picklebottom
ive never heard a pedal, or an amp for that matter, that sounded like the SCOD. id be surprised if that worked. unless its not your intention to maintain the same tone, just reduce the number of pedals youre using. Members Zappa74
I think an OCD for low gain and a SCOD for high gain would be a sweet combo. I'm a big fan of the SCOD. Great pedal.
Members El Gallo Negro
Never played a Plimsoul, but I will tell you that my favorite dirt-combo I've ever played was the SCOD (at medium gain for leads and big boy chords) into the OCD (mine was V.1, set at low-gain for rhythm). Just awesome in every way. I don't know why I keep buying other {censored}.
Members sommy
The Plimsoul, at its heart, is basically an OCD with a Tubescreamer-type gain stage immediately after that. I've never played a Catalinbread SCOD (and I'm not familiar with it), so I can't attest to how that would sound. The Plimsoul is a great pedal, but I sold mine because I can get similar tones with a much greater degree of flexibility from my Sonic Titan followed by my Timmy. The Plimsoul would obviously be the much more cost-effective solution, but there you go. Oddly enough, the Plimsoul was the one Fulltone pedal I preferred at 9v because it sounded much tighter.
