POD HD500 and Marshall DSL 50 Amp Connections/Sounds

HI All

 

 

I am a bit stuck with trying to link my HD500 to my DSL 50 for playing live.

 

 

I am under the impression I can either use my DSL 50 pre amp with HD500 effects only (no amp sim) or use the HD500 amp sims and effects through my DSL50 powe amp only using the 4Cable method.

 

 

I have connected everything up as per the Line 6 link below I found on u tube and all is Ok with hearing everything on the HD500 out of the speakers.

 

 

 

 

My problem is understanding how to get my Marshall pre amp working and then adding some effects to that?

 

 

Is it possible to to download a patch from custome tone, then take out the amp sim and use my real amp sound??

 

 

This is all meant for live us so I am hoping there it is relatively easy to switch using feet only?

On the XT live it just meant turning off the amp sim on the patches you wanted to use that way.

I use a PE60 for stage with my HD500, and a Marshall MG for practice. I have all of my settings so that FS2 toggles the amp model on and off, for when I switch between amps, or go DI. FS1 is for my fx loop when I use outboard gear, and FS3 and 4 are for delay and other patches.
