Members Tonemeister87
what do you think? Personally I think his tone was much more transparent and musical with the Marshall heads. Vote now
Members Megadeth7684
I never thought his tone was anything great. His playing rules however.EDIT: I see you figured out how to post a poll!

Members -=MYK=-
I really can't say. I've never heard his amp just through his speaker cab.
Members ZED
I love the sounds he gets through the Peaveys. His old sound was OK , too, but now it's nice n nasty.
Members adrianb
I think Joe's Extremist tone was killer. So was Flying in a Blue Dream. So, i voted Marshall.
Members JSatch69
His tone was way better with Marshalls. No doubt. Seen him with both setups and judging by the recorded material. Its Marshall all the way. Wasn't it the 30th Anniversary Ltd he played?
Members LaXu
I think he sounded better with Marshalls. From what I've tried the Peavey JSX it's not a bad sounding amp, but it isn't dynamic like a nice Marshall. I critisized the Triple XXX for being overgained and very compressed and IMO the same applies to the JSX to a lesser degree - it has a more usable range of gain but is still quite compressed tonewise. FWIW I prefer the Peavey tone, I always thought his Marshall tone was a bit lean...I'm not bagging Marshalls. He uses a bunch of different gear in the studio...In the early days mostly Soldano...Nowadays his studio gear is Soldano HR50 (modded by Mike) Cornford...not sure which model and I believe it may also have been modded.
