Members FWAxeIbanez
So I just bought some new preamp tubes for my uber and I'm planning on picking up some new power tubes a few weeks before we go into the studio, and I was wondering if the preamp tubes would require a rebias (I know the power tubes will...) and moreover if this is something I can do myself? Are bob savage or other bogner vets around to give specifics by chance?
Members anti-flag193
you don't have to bias after pre-amp tubes.

Members xiwiwix1
Preamp tubes do not need re-biasing, well I've never heard of it. You will need a special tool to help you bias your power tubes, though you could be electrocuted to death if you touch the wrong part in side your amp. Members FWAxeIbanez
I have to open up the chassis and stuff? I thought I just had to stick a meter somewhere and turn a pot or something...

The Bias Pot is located inside the chassis and is mounted under one of the PCB's with a hole cut out for access. It's labeled on one of the PCB's. If you had a Weber Bias Rite with the VI option that lets you read the plate voltage, it would be pretty simple. You're not really going to have to touch anything in the amp. All you do is take a small flathead screw driver and adjust the bias pot. Dale
