Well guys, its that time again..been a while but ive been finishing off my new JD73 album and havent had anywhere near as much time to make videos of keyboards!

Anyway, had this in for review for Future Music a few weeks back and thought id make a video especially as there's not much out there on this synth yet.

Hope you like, part 1 is now live, part 2 coming soon.

All the best guys, hope alls well with you.

do u like it? is it comfortable? does your neck hurt? im close to pre-ordering

I think its a great board. The onboard sounds are well chosen and expressive and can be tweaked via a computer, its comfortable to play and no neck pains!

I enjoyed your playing, I just wished you'd have went through some more sounds in the video.
:)

Hey man, thanks. Youve also brought up an interesting point that i want to address.

Thing is, when i get to play new stuff like this, i tend to just find a sound that inspires me and stick with that. I also lose my flow if i have to stop, change sound every min or so and it also takes a lot of video editing to provide something thats watchable and not jumpy-something that takes a lot of time that i just havent got.

Im not affiliated with the manufacturers in any way so really if they were doing their jobs properly they should be going out of their way to provide proper sound/feature demos for people to check out whats onboard.

Im not really into sitting down and going through all the features and sounds one by one in an instructional sense-thats a full time job in itself. The big synth companies are meant to employ product demo specialists to do this job...im a player first and foremost and not a product demo specialist (this is no way directed at you, its just Roland and the likes need to pull their fingers out and sell their products-show us what they can do!!!)

Unfortunately they only time they seem to demo products is at music shows and their demos leave a lot to be desired.

Really though, these vids are just for fun and if they inspire along the way thats very flattering and a huge bonus for me..the more people i can get loving playing keys the better!!!I still get that buzz playing that i used to when i first started and luckily enough as a reviewer i get to check out unreleased kit and have a play!

FYI heres the review and a few more sound clips..

Dan,

I agree manufacturers should do more to demonstrate their products capabilities/sounds via their own website. There are a few that do pretty good at this, but others do a fair job at best.

Thanks for the link of the review & I look forward to your part 2 video...

you gotta see this one in the flesh tho, its actually looks great and you dont feel foolish playing it...i did a gig the other night without it and was stuck to one spot and thought how liberating it would feel to be able to move around on stage instead of being glued to one spot!
