Members moog man
woa man. pretty sweet. half of a P08 in a small box with sub oscs for that price? thats a win. but where is the LDII!??
Members soundxplorer
I'm officially excited. For mono synths I prefer lots of real knobs - but for a poly, real-time tweaking is less important. I will probably be buying this.
Members ChristianRock
I hope it's got a better editor than the Mopho. Still, for the price, that's a killer deal!!! I bet they're gonna make a KILLING with this.
Members The Hamburglar
Do the knobs / extra circuits to allow knobs really cost that much?
Members The Severalist
If it's at all multi-timbral it's a near no brainer purchase.
Members ChristianRock
Do the knobs / extra circuits to allow knobs really cost that much? Dude, it's got 4 voices. As in, 8 analog oscillators + 4 sub-oscillators, 4 analog filters. Also, the power supply change to work with those extra chips is always a major cost consideration. Members The Hamburglar
I'm sorry, I meant that I wish they would just slap some more knobs on the thing and was thinking that such knobs surely couldn't add too much to the cost... The price is undeniably excellent.
Members Tomkeen
That's great! Might be getting me one of these someday. Did the Mopho respond to MIDI CC btw? If this one does I'll probably get it for sure, could be great with the X-station.
Members hogberto
holy crap. after a day of trying out my new MEK and having been blown away by it i am ready to sign up to buy just about anything that dave smith produces.

Sorry! I totally misunderstood that. But yeah I agree. At least a 5-knob selectable mod matrix like the Blofeld, would be so useful.
Members kpatz
Cool! I wonder though if it'll kill sales of the Mopho. Looks like interface-wise it isn't much different but you're getting 4 voices for the price of 2 Mophos.

You would think so, but in fact hardware like pots and knobs are a MAJOR cost of manufacturing - circuit boards are cheap.
Members mildbill
That looks pretty neat. Now I'd like to see him do up the original mono desktop into a 4 voice.
Members deadvolvo1
I think in reality the lack of knobs is incentive to spend more money on more expensive higher end models, which have a higher R&D cost.
