Members ChristianRock
And don't forget this one, if you don't have all that much stuff... this plus another Z-stand on the side for the mighty 88-key S90ES might work. Quiklok Triple Shelf Workstation This one also seems cool and can be expanded with racks, monitor stand, etc
Members d1rtynyc
For your needs these are a good value:http://www.guitarcenter.com/Studio-RTA-Mix-Station-102538410-i1152462.gc http://www.guitarcenter.com/Studio-RTA-Creation-Station-Studio-Desk-546550-i1152461.gc The 2nd is what I'd buy if I did not already have the IKEA JERKER (discontinued, but can be found for cheap too)
Members ElectricPuppy
I like the Quiklok stuff; I have a pair of Z stands, a rolling rack and their big Z-600 desk (although the desk isn't working out for me). ***BEWARE*** Quiklok's factory packaging is absolutely terrible. Nearly every piece I've received has gotten banged-up to some degree, from 3 different retailers. They don't immobolize the pieces in their boxes well enough and the heavy steel pieces slide around, sometimes working their way out of their cheap, flimsy cardboard boxes. If you order any, keep an eye out for damage when you receive it and notify your retailer immediately if there's something broken.
Members ChristianRock
This one's actually pretty cool. It's 500 bucks but it's awesome: Producer Station
Members Metrosonus
i love how those look, but they drive me nuts..i've always preferred L or corner desks.. i guess i find being more or less forced to face one direction confining.
Members ChristianRock
Not everybody can afford an L-desk... but yeah they are more awesome. To get an L-desk with the raised levels for the speakers, plus the tray for the computer keyboard, and the rack spaces, would cost a bucket of Benjamins... Members AfroRouge
I use an Ikea FREKDRIK computer workstation as my main desk and really like it. The middle shelf can be set to whatever height you want - I have it down low, where it holds my LCD and monitors at head-height, allowing plenty of room for MD, MNM and other gear underneath (where they stow away safely when not in use). Also allows for storage up high for things like manuals, gear you don't always use, whatever. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper than these studio-specific pieces people are suggesting, and can probably be found used in a big city like Chicago.
