Members gerrekat
I liked it a lot better, ENGLs come biassed very cold factory that is I guess why some people say they are a little SS-ish sounding. When you biass them hotter they have more punch and warmth yet retaining that ENGL tightness. I have mine at 41 mA it was biassed at 27 mA factory. Members Kyle DiSanto
I wonder if I should bias my savage 120 Hotter?
Members gerrekat
If it's still factory bias you should! I biassed mine hotter and replaced the 6550's with Svetlana SED's was quite an improvement though the stock tubes definately don't sound bad, mine were just old. Members cqc6
Hey, I was wondering what my Fireball would sound like a tad hotter- It's about time I retube it. I may order a Wereb Biasrite really soon. I gotta learn how to retube. I dread doing it- but oh well.
Members gerrekat
Rebiassing ENGLs is not easy, the bias pot is a bitch to find on the PCB. They are actually not too keen on people rebiassing themselves, they have the bias classes on the tubes just buy a brand new set of the same class ENGL tubes and you're set. But it's cool to experiement with other brands, I have SED's in all my ENGLs except for the SE which still has the stock ones. The SE is the only one that has external bias pots and biassing system. Members DarkCide
Thats the only thing I have about my PB. The biasing is difficult. I'm an Electrical Engineer and I'm willing to do it myself. If only I could find the instructions somewhere.

Members Kyle DiSanto
anyone havea pic of where the Savage 120's pot is? Once I biased my framus cobra hotter(when i had it) it was a completely new animal. THe treblely sound went away for a thicker/warmer sound. Wonder if this is true for the savage 120?
