Members Fxrs
I'm guilty of it too, great pedal(Just doesn't get along with my amp) has anyone tried the "Hot Head"? I would guess it's the next step up on the distortion level.

Members Rindgecore
It is definetly a step up in the gain dept, but it doesn't have the transparency of the BM....it's more of a harsh DS-1 type sound.
Members Uze Soap
I was thinking of getting the Bad Monkey. I'm looking for a boost in gain but keeping a classic rock sound. What say you aboot the Monkey?

Members septopus
The Bad Monkey is really nice, but I finally decided on the Screamin' Blues, which sounds Bad Monkeyish with the gain down low, and Hot Headish with the gain turned up. I love it, it's a good distortion pedal and an even better warm boost pedal on the clean channel.
Members Rindgecore
I use mine as a boost as well: Level: 10 Bass: 5 Treble: 0 Gain: 0 I'm getting an 808+ modded TS7 sometime this week, i'm wondering wether or not it's going to beat the BM. I'm not sure if it'll beat it, that's how great the BM is.
Members flip333
The clips on the digitech website sound very nice. There is a guy with an ebay ad that says he makes the Bad Monkey more transparent and sells them for about $75.
Members FLYING V 83
I have the original USA version. Not on my board anymore, but I keep it in the gig bag in case my board ever goes south at a gig. It's the one pedal I'd use solo into the amp if need be. Members terry5357
Fireproof has a B-52 and a BM. this is a good pedal, not too fuzzy sounded really good through his amp when he was over a few weeks ago. It was really nice and bitey
Members Matter-Eater Lad
I use it as a boost into already distorting amps. Level: maximum Bass: noon o'clock Highs: 2 o'clock Gain: off, zero

Members "sasquatch"
i have the monkey and love it. i run it with the level high, treb noon, gain low and a bump in the bass. it is a fantastic boost and can even do some nice light OD sounds on a clean channel too. Sounds about what I do. It sounded really nice into my Bassman as well to give it a little grit. I was actually surprised that the Mixer output sounded not too bad going direct to a PA. Not ideal, but it could be made to work in an emergency.
Members eyeball987
Has anyone tried it with a 5150? I stumbled across a good setting on mine but I want to take the boost that I am using now (Korg AX100) and put it into the loop so that I can use some delay and verb. I have an EQ in the loop with level at 80% with the highs cut for some boost and an EQ in front at 80% with the highs cut plus the Korg modeling an OD pedal with the level up and the gain way down. This really smoothed the amp out and took out a lot of fuzz. I guess that it doesn't really matter. I will just go to GC and buy one. Hell I would have 30 days to return it anyway and they are cheap.
