Members mister kyo
i've played some rg's, i've played some jacksons...the reason you shouldnt buy the rg is: most jacksons in a comparable price range play BETTER. i'd bet yours does too. Members LordOVchaoS
Anybody bitching about the neck on an RG has never played a good one. The stock pickups usually suck but that's an easy fix. Also, if you're bitching about a bolt-on you're either a gay corksniffer or you spend too much time reading bull{censored} on the internet rather than playing guitar. Why don't you step up a string and try out an RG7620? They feel almost as good as my UV and you can get them for about $350-$400 used.
Members Megadeth7684
I hate basswood, it sounds {censored}ty IMO, which is what most RG's are made of. I like the RG550's though.

The higher end RG's are real nice, such as the prestiges, and since the bolt on area isnt fat like stratocasters, the upper frets are easily accessible. Only thing is pickup swap that can be changed, but killer axe IMO for the price.

Members Shask
The thin flat necks screw with my wrist. I used to play them, but cant anymore. Then again, I dont like Jackson necks either

Anyone have any experiences with one, and no they are not gay they rock! They are great. They sound excellent and play even better. The UV is basically a 7-string JEM so I guess I own one. The 6-ers are just as good.
Members RebelShredmojo
If you get an Ibanez, make sure its a Prestige. Huge difference in quality in the Japanese guitars and Korean. the bodies are about the only thing thats the same. I'd take an Ibanez over a Jackson any day I love the Edge Pro. Members Code-001
I only buy Ibanez guitars. Jackson necks are too thick and not flat enough. I agree on both buying a Prestige Ibanez (or finding an old 550, 570) and swapping the pickups though.
