Ok, so I need you guys to slap me around a bit and put me back in line... am I overreacting? I am a bit harsh when it comes to ebay, I don't ever see why something shouldn't be shipped within a week, so I need some balancing out

I bought a Strat on the 26th of may, paid for it that day... and I still don't have it

I wasn't looking and I accidently sent him the wrong address via paypal... it was my old address which happens to be my mom's house, I sent him an e-mail asking if I could change addresses and got no response untill three days later which said "Thanks for the sale! I'll ship when the money clears!"

when I got that one I sent him another e-mail saying "Where will it ship to? Did you recieve my last e-mail?" and basically explained the situation all over again... about a week later I get a response saying "Ok, the guitar has shipped! I'll have a tracking number for you shortly! Thanks for the sale!"

that was last monday... most places take 5 business days, which of course means its usually a week from the day you brought it in... so this monday came and went, and I figured he probably got it in just before closing, so tuesday came and went and here I am on Wednesday long after shipping times and I've recieved no Tracking number, no response to the other e-mails, no nothing...

I'm pissed, is that justified? I don't see why it should take 3 weeks to recieve something you paid for ten minutes after it auctions close

I think I'm going to send him an e-mail that says "If I don't recieve a tracking number or extremely valid explanation for the lack of communication within 48 hours, I am initiating a chargeback and will refuse delivery if said guitar does actually exist and arrive past the 48 hours"

I'm admittedly very impatient, and in the end it has been about a week and a half since paypal cleared, I'm just worried because the guy doesn't even reply and I still have no tracking numbers... maybe that e-mail isn't exactly justified, but maybe its a good bluff to get the tracking numbers from him

That {censored} bothers me to the max, when you ask a Question and they respond like a {censored}ing retard and dont even answer the question you asked. Its like they are in their own {censored}ing little world or some {censored}.

It shouldn't take that long to receive a guitar, just try to get the tracking number ASAP, you can always file a claim now to show him your serious so he would stop dicking around. You can always cancel disputes if it gets resolved.

its fine if he did ship it to the old address because its my moms house... It just sucks cuz I have driven by there every day since like thursday to see if its there and I'm pretty sure the neighbors are getting a bit suspicious since I have a new car, and we were robbed... haha, I'm not completely serious there, but its still a pain in the ass

one simple e-mail acknowledging that he's recieved mine would make this 100%

I have no problem waiting if I have an ETA in mind or something, but right now I feel like I'm in the dark completely

Apparently the majority of ebay consists of {censored}ing illiterate people or something. I believe I have never gotten a full response ever from a ebayer, it is just mind boggling for them not answer.

Responses usually are always 1 liners that are stupid as {censored}. The last guy I dealt with was a total douche bag. He gives me his phone number so I can contact him to set up a day to pick up an amplifier, I call and always get sent to his voicemail, and once, I call at 9 PM hoping to catch him, the douche bag sends a email like 5 seconds after and says to show some courtesy and call at a decent hour, im like WTF

I just went through a similar situation with an Ebay seller. I won an auction for a Mesa Mark IV rack mounted head. I paid for the amp via PayPal immediately after the auction concluded and fired off a follow-up email to the one I knew PayPal would send just reiterating my shipping information for completion sake. I didn't hear anything from the seller for over 4 days (neither confirmation that the money was received or responding to my inquiries about tracking information).

Finally after the 4+ days I sent another email indicating that it had been 4 days and I hadn't heard anything from him and that I needed the tracking information (all very courteous emails). Within 10 minutes or so of the last email he finally responded with the tracking number and indicated that it had been sent out 2 days prior. I wouldn't think it would be very difficult to simply reply within at least a day to indicate all was well and to tell me that a tracking number was forth coming (every other Ebay transaction I've dealt with has been like that).

For me it became even worse as when I finally received the amp the two power switches on the front of the amp were broken so I couldn't even turn the amp on to see if it worked or not (even after he listed in the auction that the amp was in used but "mint" condition and an email response before I bid on the amp where he told me the amp was in perfect working condition and he'd played it without issue). I have the amp being repaired now and got him to agree to pay for the repairs (assuming that the amp works at all after the relatively simple repair, otherwise I told him I'm returning it for a full refund, which he did agree to as well).

Sorry that was a bit long winded, but I know what it's like to get an extremely slow responding seller that makes you feel like you're getting screwed over. :(

this is why I sometimes HATE ebay. Asshole non-communicating ebayers. I don't get it at all.

Well.. if his feedback rating is good... then you'll probably be ok.

If not you can always file "item not received"

In the end it will work out. You can always get his phone # and call him. One way or another you will get satisfaction out of the situation........ even if, worse case scenario, you just have to end up getting your money back.

I'm one of those that always pays immediately after auction close. And I CAN'T {censored}ING WAIT to get my item!! Fortunately for me.. the longest I've ever waited was 2 1/2 weeks. The longest I've ever waited for first communication from the seller was 3 days (which is WAY too long IMO).

Hahaha, most of my transactions have been pretty good, I've only ever had one really bad one, the rest are just annoying things... like when I bought my Bareknuckle... I bought it, paid shortly after, and then like a week later he says "ok, I'll have the pickup out of the guitar in a couple days, now I just gotta find a box!"

and I'm like :freak: what are you doing selling something that isn't set to ship already? and how come it takes you a week to get it pulled and then you want more time to box it up?!

but see thats the difference, he kept me updated for the most part, and I was cool about it, just a bit annoyed and anxious

once I got the pup installed I was so floored by it tho that I wrote him a long thank you e-mail and gave him glowing positive feedback

not really how its supposed to work, since you are rating the seller not the product, but I couldn't help it, I love that pup!

What I'd do, and I've had a few recent transactions on ebay with jerks is..

1 last email, warning of paypal, and ebay disputes, and you will win based on past experiences.
Then paypal dispute, and ebay dispute.

Hope this works out for you man,
Zach

Probably just ask for a tracking number and upon whatever amount of time (12 hours?) you are going to dispute the transaction.

Hey man-

If you have some of his info (name, adress, etc) I'd maybe try and reverse lookup his phone number and give him a ring. He'll probably wonder where you got his number, but just let him know about this little thing called the Freedom of Information Act of '66 :thu:

Dealing with this right now. Bought a Dean USA Hardtail for $1300 on Saturday, paid immediately, STILL haven't heard a damn thing from the seller. He has 500+ positive feedback, but geez can't you at least acknowledge that you got my payment??

Unbelievable!!!! I just got it today, the 16th, he didn't respond to my e-mail at all, and get this:

He wrapped the hardshell case in brown paper, slapped a shipping label on it, and shipped it! miraculously it is in perfect condition, but there's more... the strings are tied to the tuners... yes, you heard me right, he put the string through the tuning holes and then tied them in a knot

is this the twilight zone or something?!

To clarify... not ALL the strings, just the last three unwound ones... I went to tune it up and I'd turn the peg and nothing would happen, wouldn't even change pitch at all... had a closer look... was kinda like "is that...? no... couldn't... what the hell?!"

Ebay = retards.

First thing I do on a major transaction is get the info for the person from Ebay (Name, address, phone #) and when you do that it sends them my info. I pay immediately and expect equal immediate response and I don't give a {censored} what the excuse is (my computer's broke, my Mom's doing porn, I'm out of cat food, etc.). I just did it last week with a guitar and as soon as I looked up the info he called me (which was good) and advised of the details.

You got it on 5/26 and waited this long?? {censored} that {censored}.

The other thing that pisses me off lately is leaving FB and them not - even when asked. {censored}ing complete morons. So from now on until I get it, I don't give it.
