Best speaker to blend with a V30?

It's time to put some new speakers in my old Bandmaster cab. It's a '67/68 tall 2x12 cab. Same width as a Marshall head, and a little taller than a Marshall cab. It's got a speaker on top and on bottom.

 

 

I'm gonna have a 100w SL-X pushing this cab. I've got a V30 on it's way. I only bought one because I decided at the last minute to try mixing two different Celestions. I'm looking for a clear sounding speaker that won't drown out the V30, but will add a bit more highs to the boom of the V30. (Does that make sense??)

 

In the cab, I'm gonna put the V30 on bottom.

For the top speaker, should I try a GB?

 

 

Others that I've been listening to clips of are the CL80's, but they've got a few watts on the Greenbacks, and may not be best as the top speaker.

 

I'd love to hear some opinions.

g12 75's or g12-100's or cl80's thats just a few of the common ones

I like CL80s best with V30s. They have a throaty low end and an extended high end, so you will get a fat, punchy tone that is tight and very accurate. I've been using that combo for a while and it's great for tight rhythms and cuts through nicely for solos.

I've been thinking of putting G12H30s, Greenies, or CL80s in my cab to mix with the V30s....still undecided though.
