Hi Guys,

I am an ameatur player. Play at home mostly but I am looking to venture out within the next 6 months-1year.

I currently have a Gibson ES 135 with p-90s.

I absolutley hate my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It sounds like I am playing with a blanket over the speaker. Clean it sucks!

I have tried out some amps in the store with my guitar. The 65 Deluxe Reverb sounds nice. 20 Watts. Not too big or heavy.

Also one of the Tweed Blues ones sounded good.

Just looking for any advice or recommendations.

Thanks a million

Mueller

The tweed blues deluxe is almost exactly like the hot rod deluxe except for the fact that it has one less gain stage and no bias control. Lamens terms, it's the same amp pretty much.

The hot rod deluxe should be decent. I've done a couple mods to mine and with some good tubes and the RIGHT bias the amp is pretty good for what it did.

I also ran the HRD with a deluxe reverb in stereo and I had to admit the clean on the deluxe is lovely.

I would reccomend to you the fender bassman 59 or a fender virbro-king.
