Members -DOOM-
Hey people - Looking to get either 1 of these cabs in a 4x12 to be used for detuned slower metal. Will be running a marshall 8100 and / or randall head. Which one provides a fatter / better tone - there's about 1mm difference in ply thickness, though the orange looks sturdier. Must be able to handle chunky, bassy mutes and grind.. Please comment on the quads only as the head(s) are here to stay..... Cheers peeps.... Members Edes
The orange straight that I played through I found was very dark sounding and sounded great when being run by a JCM800 with the high gain mod. Haven't played through the framus quad before.
Members Potex
The Framus Cab has a nice woody thunk to it. I have one and am very happy with it.

Members TomCTC
Fah-RAMUS!! I have the Dragon cab, modded for mono 16 ohms input. Sounds excellent! I'd recommend it over my own life.
Members acev
How did you mod it for 16 ohms ? I was thinking of getting another 4x12, but I need 16 ohm cab. What is the sound like, low end and all..good for metal type stuff ? Compared to Mesa traditional or similar cab that is.
Members Prehistoricpain
The orange will own any cab out there for thickness and chunk. you wont find a bigger sounding cab. i looked at tons of cabs, framus, mesa, marshall, highwatts, even a krank cab!! but seriously, nothing compared to the bottom end this cab has. Members acev
How would you compare orange 2x12 to framus 4x12...price is the same here in Europe.

Members Rawchannel
I haven't played the Framus, but, I've yet to find a cab that I like as much as my Orange 2x12...I'm sure the 4x12 is even more beastly.
Members illini
Haven't played the Framus, but you can't go wrong with the Orange. Solid cab.
Members JoshuaLogan
both use vintage 30's, but the orange is built better and probably sounds a bit better too. this is like the 10th thread you've made on this subject. if you are still unsure, you should probably go test out the cabs yourself ot make sure you know what you want. I've played the orange though the Framus is not available to me..This is not the 10th post - I'm trying to narrow down available quad options mate...A big thanks to others who have supplied their imput - cheers

Basically, I've been told a rewire of the cab can assist here though I'd like to avoid this if possible. Hence the interest in the Framus quad which is apparently, the next best available option...
