Members syxstringslayer
In the thick n meaty department.Keep in mind, 5150 is bias/clarity with ruby tubes. And boosted. But the savage uses 6550s. So what do you think?Just buy a savage,Or get another 5150??
Members Kyle DiSanto
THe 5150 is way meatier....the Savage would contrast nicely as a thinner, or should I say Sharper sound.

Members syxstringslayer
rectifier? Hm, interesting. Im trying to pair 2 amps together is why Im asking this. Powerball, savage, rectifier,5150. Pick the best pair out of em.... If thats possible at all?
Members buntaluffigus
Of course the Savage is going to sound thinner. The 5150 is known as having a big flabby ass and a premium shot of fuzz on the top. The Savage isn't a loose fizzy amp. It's a real amp.

The powerball and the 5150 sound {censored}ING MASSIVE, the 5150 having a huge, thick, saturated, grinding tone, while the powerball's bone crushing, ultra tight and focused low-end bark would keep things together. Members syxstringslayer
well one vote for PB+5150. Could it go RECT+5150? Either way, the 5150 should remain at least half of the setup. Biased probly with rubys and a boost.
Members Kyle DiSanto
Honestly, the heaviest tone I've ever heard is the 5150/Framus Cobra combo. Its MASSIVE!
Members The Jeff
I use my 5150 and Recto together with a TS-808 boosting them. The 5150 covers the high mid grind while the Recto covers the low mid thump. Sounds tight and massive. They blend *extremely* well--better than any other combo of amps I've used.
