Members Duesentrieb
Two versions, japanese (grey-ish) and violet US made. Circuitry is a bit different to a X88R since the first channel should do both, clean or crunch. The clean is okay, the crunch (from channel 1) also. The leads from channel 2 are (at least I would call them) typical Soldano (in both versions btw). Smooth, with lots of gain, made to play leads and not DM rythms. I've had both versions (not at the same time though) and could provide schematics if you should be interested . . . Prices (here in europe) are 350 for the japanese and up to 450 for the US version. If you are looking for a multi-talented pre, I would add a JMP-1 or MP-1 for crunch and use the SP-77 for clean and lead. US: Japanese:
Members Cougar Hunter
meh, it's okay. I had the USA purple one. It sounds like Dokken or Ratt 100% of the time, not that that's a bad thing. the settings have to be bizarrely set to sound normal though. like gain 8, bass 7, mids 3, treble 2 etc. not a very versatile unit.
