Members em07189
Hi everyone. What is the main differences between the 5150 and 5150II? I think That the 5150 have 2 inputs one low and other for the high gain, right? This means that every time i want to switch between channels i have to take off the guitar input to connect to the other channel , or this is unnecessary? Thanks
Members saxxamafone
5150 VS 5150II The 5150II has the following differences: Rhythm channel crunch is foot switchable Adjustable bias (cold range) Separate EQ for each channel Separate presence and resonance for each channel Brighter overall tone Better clean tone A little less gain on the lead channel (6 gain stages) A lot less gain on the rhythm channel (3 gain stages)

Members jrk5150
The 5150II is a nice amp, and I love the footswitchable crunch and better eq options, but the original 5150 has better tone IMO. The 5150 sounds darker and meaner IMO.
Members shane159
5150 sounds alot meaner and more bottom than the 5150II ,but the II has a nicer clean. The low and high gain inputs are not to change the channel but to lower or raise the gain of the input. You change the channels via footswitch or button on the amp. Members saxxamafone
Hi one more time "mate" saxxamafone? You are the right person to answer my questions, between your 5150 and Blackmore, waht is the amp that you like more? i like my blackmore better, much better all round amp. Has great cleans and crunch. The high gain of the engl can sound very similar to the 5150 at higher volumes (only the engl is clearer while still being very aggressive) When playing live, i always go with the blackmore over the 5150 You have the 5150 right , not the 5150II? yep i have the 5150 Now about the blackmore. Members em07189
Hi again Saxxamafone! The tubes that come stock with the blackmore are: Preamp - 3 X ECC83 Poweramp - 1 x ECC 83, 4 x 5881 Do i have to do something to the amp to replace the 5881 for the 6L6, like for example mods, or biasing , or it
Members Chrisjd
Having owned both the 5150 and the 5150 II, I can say that the 5150 does not sound meaner than the 5150 II. The 5150 is a HAIR thicker and darker, but the 5150 II barks like a mofo and cuts even better than the 5150.
