Members Weathered
It's a 2004, built on the 113th day of the year, and is the 314th guitar stamped that day.

Members Weathered
No model information in serial numbers, simply used for figuring out the guitar's age.
Members Paul J. Edwards
What Weatherd said is correct for gibsons built since 1977. Here is a good link for older serial #'s as well. http://www.gibson.com/Files/downloads/bluebook/GibsonSERIALNUMBERS.pdf

Members em07189
If a guitar is a Les paul standard, that must have to be written in the guitar neck right?
Members Weathered
If it's a production Les Paul (Studio, Standard) and isn't a Classic, it would be 0XXX5XXX.
Members Weathered
If a guitar is a Les paul standard, that must have to be written in the guitar neck right? If it looks like a Standard, and has that form of serial #, it's a Standard. The only other Les Paul that looks like a Standard is a Classic, and that has a different serial # layout. Members MattACaster
If it's a production Les Paul (Studio, Standard) and isn't a Classic, it would be 0XXX5XXX. LP Classics are different?
Members Weathered
LP Classics are different? Yeah - they're something like XX XXXXX IIRC. I don't remember the form to them.

Members em07189
HI everyone! Every gibson guitar comes with the "Standard " stamped in the truss rod cover? The seller said me that not all gibson guitars have the type of model stamped in the truss rod cover. What you guys think of this? i have annexed a picture of the guitar head so you guys can see this. Thanks.
Members Weathered
I need more photos of teh guitar itself, but it looks like a LP Standard from that picture.

Members Weathered
That's a Standard, all right. The lack of snot-colored inlays and the legit serial # are pretty convincing.
