I've seen loads of people moan at them because all they do is "rest on their laurels" ...and then they release a sig guitar for a modern metal guitarist and everyone complains about it! Members MojoFilter Posted July 16, 2007 Members Share Posted July 16, 2007 No one had a problem when Muddy Waters got his own MIM Signature guitar...as a matter of fact, many people consider it to be one of the best blues Telecasters made today, at any price. Jim Root originally played a Fender Custom Shop Flat Head Telecaster, which were significantly more expensive, and if I'm not mistaken, are now discontinued. This is his take on it...I don't see what problem people have with him getting a signature model. Just about every high-profile rock guitarist has been associated with Fender at one point or another during their careers...it should say something about the quality of their product that people keep flocking to them...
