So this should be good then

Take tubes out of head, rap each in some paper towels. place inside headbox where they can't move (tape or something) rap head in bubble wrap, then some thicker foam crap. rest of box with peanuts. tape shut. place in slighlty bigger box which is filled with peanuts. tape and shut that one. did i miss anything?

 thanks for the pics EOD

As far as shipping and packing companies go. Try to find a smaller packing/shipping company, especially ones that specialize in antiques and other high value items. I found a small shipper that uses heavy duty 2 ply cardboard the stuff you need to staple, no tape. He also uses industrial bubble wrap, not the crap you find at the typical places. This stuff is very thick and tough, and you can't pop it by stepping on it.

Another thing as well, support the transformers, I have seen amps in pristine condition to then notice the transformer bent off to the side
