Members JoshuaLogan
So, I just learned about Prions... and the "kuru" of the Fore tribe in new guinea... and how mad-cow disease is a prion disease... had it all explained to my class by our brilliant biology teacher. Holy {censored}. Prions are scary mother{censored}ers. I think everyone has heard of mad-cow disease, but I don't think most people know what Prions are.... I had never heard of them until tonight. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prion http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prion_disease http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmissible_spongiform_encephalopathy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuru_(disease) (read this one atleast!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bovine_spongiform_encephalopathy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creutzfeldt-Jakob_disease Oh, and for people who don't read anything. Prions are the only non-living things we know (aren't made of cells) other than viruses. They are infectious proteins... Crazy stuff.
