Members the_bleeding
5150powerballengl 5** preamp not sure which one, but its a 500 series. These preamps are known for having awesome leads but not so great rhythm tones --> but its not like you could hear a thick rhythm tone with quick rhythms like that. Members mparsons
Thanks! I'll check it out. Will a Powerball/Fireball get me in the general vicinity of that tone?
Members DeadNight Warrior
I believe it's an old discontinued rackmount ENGL head, can't remember the model, but it had an EL84 based power section. From what I've heard, the Blackmore is the one that'd get you closest to it. I'm no ENGL expert though, that's just going from what I've heard people saying. Members DownedMysery
Tottaly love Necrophagist's tight tones. Went out of state to try some engls (powerball, savage) Both lame. I couldnt get the savage to sound any better than my 5150 II and the powerball sounded muffled. Big disappointment.
