Members bmast160 Posted May 5, 2008 Members Share Posted May 5, 2008 Looking to put these in the V3 or phase inverter slot in my two amps...i've heard they are really good in this slot...BUT i checked out thetubestore.com and for the Sovteck 12AX7-LPS(longPlate) they say that they are not good in "highpowered combo amps where they'd be subjected to lots of vibrations" because they can go microphonic....does this matter tho when its in the v3 spot??theyd be going in a ac30 and crate v3112t Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Members bmast160 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Members Share Posted May 6, 2008 right now i have a ehx 12ax7 in the v3(pi) of the crate and a tung sol in the v3(pi) of the vox...think it will sound better...i've read some stuff saying the lps is one of the best for the pi slot. Members Capulin rhino Posted May 6, 2008 Members Share Posted May 6, 2008 got to be carefull about where and what amp you use the 12AX7LPS in, something about Failure in certain aplications with possible amp damage? the LPS can be a cool tube, just make damn sure you know what you're doing if you use it.
