Hi, I'm looking to add a 4x12 cab to my existing set-up of a tremoverb head and an orange 2x12 cab in order to compete with my lead guitarist full stack and bassist ampeg fridge.

I'm thinking about going mesa but I want to know if there is a significant difference between the traditional cab and the recto cab?

traditional is a size and recto is a type so ?

wrong

Old "Standard" cab = New "Rectifier" cab

Old "Traditional" cab = New "Stiletto" cab

The recto cab is bigger and bassier, probably looser would be a good adjective as well.

The stiletto cab is smaller and more focused, tighter.

it's not necessarily about MORE bass as much as DIFFERENT bass. I had 3 recto cabs and 2 traditional cabs up until a couple days ago.

They are both badass in their own right. Just different.

ahh that makes sense. Now i want to hear my amp through a recto cab to hear that difference XD
