Members Jimbo513
I have a rack setup with an ADA MP1 3TM and Boogie power amp. I love the sound and the overdrive and can get some wicked tones. However, I am about to start playing as a duo in bars and such and don't need anything that big. We will be playing stuff like Widespread Panic, NRBQ, etc. Acoustic and electric duo, jam band type stuff. I'd like a small combo tube amp, maybe a 1x12 or at most 2x12, but can go smaller. I'd like a hot sound, an amp capable of some great overdrive. I do have some pedals I can run in front of one, but would still like a great amp. New or used is fine. I'd like to spend less than $1000, but around $500 if possible. How are the Fender Hot Rod amps? I am open to just about anything, Fender, Marshall, Boogie. Would something like a Mark IIC be feasible and can they be had that cheap?
Members Slaymoar
I dont know about that proce for a IIc, but it would fit the profile quite well. Marshall DSL401 sounds good to me, nice brit el84 tone. For ~ $1000 1. ENGL Thunderdrive (50w 1x12) 2. Randall RM50 (with 2 modules) 50w 1x12 (EL34/6L6) 3. Rivera Clubster 25W 1x12 (6V6) / Pubster 50W For ~750 - 850 1. Peavey Classic 50 2x12 2. Traynor YCV series Under $700 1. Traynor YCS 50 (50w 1x12) 2. Peavey ValvleKing series -D

Members 17 Tubes
used classic 30 or 50... used mesa dc 3 or 5 I know the classic 30/50 gets some love...but the H&K has SO much better pure tube tone. The classic would suffice...but the H&K knocks it out of the park.
