Members dmk
anyone got any helpful suggestions on a way to check this? tried a new set of valves, changed phase inverter just in case, changed pre's (and yes, i've tested all the valves in other amps, they're fine). still got hardly and volume at all the amp is a marshall 6100 running el34's. its not really a huge deal to replace it, i just wanna be sure (as i can be without a 2500v power supply) before i change it out, as the insides of a 6100 are a nightmare (gotta remove 2 pcb's just to get to the OT bolts ) cheers
Members jenksdrummer
Try plugging into the FX loop return? Check the voltages of the power tubes and preamp tubes?
Members Megadeth Man
Use a multimeter to check the resistances of the OT windings. You're looking to see if it's shorted out.
