Members JrMaFia Posted December 4, 2008 Members Share Posted December 4, 2008 So my parents want to buy me something for christmas. I just started playing guitar, my father used to play bass. I have my vox amp at work so i can play at work and i use my fathers bass amp at home. I was going to get a new amp for christmas. I like the crate v50 amp. I saw a video of a guy who put a celestion greenback speaker in the thing and that amp had a nice tone. I planned on getting the v50 and upgrading the tubes and swapping the speaker for a greenback and keeping this amp at home to play along with my father and to possibly gig with in the future. Members RJofGreatness Posted December 4, 2008 Members Share Posted December 4, 2008 i am going to say, even though the amp im about to say goes for a bit more than 500, you can get lucky if you find someone that might not know what it is or possibly someone that can't get rid of it, but you should get a Mesa DC-3, it is one awesome amp. i sorta regret selling mine. it was a nice combo amp that sounded really good.
