Members knucklefux
i don't know what you have local to you, but radio shack irons are ok for what they are. nowhere near as good as a half ass soldering station, but for hobby stuff they work fine. Members Mesa4x12er2
Like this?http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/4028 Exactly that one. I soldered about 50 cables and 3 sets of pickups from that thing already. Tip has lasted really well also. Got mine at Fry's.

Members Gnt1856
Just get something like a 25 watt soldering iron. And maybe some 40/60 solder Or is it 60/40?
Members GodBlessTexas
Weller first, Hakko second (and my choice because I like a good deal). And if you just buy a Rat Shack iron, make sure you can buy replacement tips for it. I bought the 20/40 switchable one 5 years ago, and you cannot find replacement tips. I was going to replace it with a Weller, but bought the Hakko instead.
Members JnBroadbent
Well I went to a hobby place and they didn't have {censored} so I went ahead and got the radio shack one. Not too bad I'd figure, digital read out is cool but yeah.

Good quality, relatively long lasting tips too.The electronics company I used to work for used 936s pretty much throughout, from design to manufacturing to R&M.Fookin' noice.
