hah... {censored} is illegal here... that my friend is entrapment, you cannot go off of an unmarked vehicle to clock you, fight that {censored}, the cop that made the stop will have to provide proof of what HE clocked you at. at least thats how it works here in cali.

I don't know where you went to law school, but that's not entrapment. Entrapment involves inducing or encouraging someone to commit an act they weren't previously disposed to commit. Giving someone the opportunity to commit a crime is not entrapment.

They take your license sometimes as a bond to ensure the ticket is paid and/or court date is made.

This happened to me when I got a speeding ticket in college. The cop took my license not because it was anything beyond a simple ticket, but because my home county was so far away from where I got the ticket - as soon as I mailed the fine, they sent my license back to me. In the meantime, the actual ticket was my temp license.

correct, that's what I meant.

But, when I go to the bank to cash my paychecks, they always ask for my drivers license, what am I supposed to do about that now.

And when your lying dead my embalming table, We'll see how big your pathetic cock really is.

Your a dip{censored}. I don't regularily speed. I was just driving on a road with a golf course on my right, and a forest preserve on my left, with no other cars on the road, I was going too fast, I got a ticket.
Regardless, you take it in the ass :thu:

he may have had another one recently?
:idk:
i dont know if 15 over is a higher offense in IL- i think 20 over is reckless driving, which is a big deal.

i got a few speeding tickets when i drove a z34lumina,(lol) but i used to go pay a traffic lawyer like 150,then they could get it taken off your record after a year of 'court supervision' or probation or whatever, and i think maybe i paid a fine once or something i dunno- but classes are for people who keep getting more serious tickets like reckless and DUIs i thought?
:idk:

anyways- speeding tickets still arent as bad as those red light cameras- i got one of those from st louis a few months ago that was a hundred dollars

20 over is a higher fine, it's not reckless driving. Instead of $75 it's $95 or thereabouts. Reckless driving requires more than just speed. HIs license was more than likely taken as bond, and he can drive on the ticket until he gets it taken care of.

Does your state issue photo ID's separately from DL's? If so, get both.

edit, just noticed you're in my state. Get a photo ID, it's like 5 bucks.

You seriously have NO other form of identification? Credit cards, college ID's? Nothing?

Either way, it's your own fault for not obeying the posted speed limits. I can be sympathetic, but really these kinds of things carry consequences and are entirely avoidable. And this is from someone who has had his license suspended before.

And I dont have to show my ID at my bank unless im withdrawing cash out of my paycheck, if they wont even let you just deposit money without an ID, that's pretty sad. But my bank is a smaller bank, they actually know me so maybe it's a little different.

Not how it works.

They physically take away your license, but it's up the judge to make the final say. You have until the court date where you can drive. I was told the exact same thing years ago. A cop is not going to take your license and just allow you to drive off if you are, in fact, unable to drive. Fact is, your driving priveleges can only be revoked by a judge. If the judge finds you innocent (unlikely, but it can happen if there are extenuating circumstances) then you will get your physical license back.

The ticket, when shown to other cops is your proof that your license hasn't yet been revoked/suspended, it's just scheduled to be ruled on at the documented date. It isnt your license so much as your alibi.

No, your DL is suspended or revoked by the issuing agency, usually the Secretary of State. The judge has nothing to do with it. The rest of your post is accurate.

Oh, I'm not looking for sympathy or anything, I'm just more pissed off that fees/tickets/traffic school/court costs are going to rape my gear fund. That's all.

Amd I'm only 17, so no college id, maybe a library card? It's a fairly large bank, maybe that's why they always ask for a photo ID :idk:

Well he's right, its mostly there for safety, but its like you said; you were driving on a road with no-one in sight, probably no houses, kids, etc. It may have been perfectly safe at that time.

& like I said, your mind can drift, etc...

Therefore, RADAR DETECTOR. I dont use it so I can fly, but it's saved my ass a few times.. Well worth it!

.

RADAR detectors catch lazy cops. A cop who is on the ball can clock you before your detector goes off.

I was thinking about it earlier, which one do you use?

Beltronics & Escort are the best, & pretty much the main ones worth getting (I use Beltronics). Think $180-300.. The other cheapies (Whistler-Cobra) have low range, false-alarms, etc.

First time you get that signal & let off the gas to see you were 5-10 mph over as you see "The Man" up ahead, youll be in love. :cop:

i should get one,but i'd rather buy some kind of gear or something :idk:

True, but the way RADAR should be run is just a momentary thing. You can sit there with it on continuously but anyone with a detector is going to know. If you point, lock on, and release the trigger, it takes about a second to clock, and the detector will only pick up a second of RADAR activation. I've seen guys throw their detectors out the window after getting speeding tickets before. Speaking of which, most cops I work with, and I as well, give 15 over before we even stop a speeder. Some give 10 over, but the majority give 15. A cop who gives a speeding ticket for 5 or less over is going to get laughed out of court.

Not true. A detector has better range & can tell you BEFORE they get a lock. ESPECIALLY if theres other cars around, youll be warned WAY early. Ive had it warn me of cops from like a mile away at times.

Lasers are a different story, they are very directional & faster. You get THAT signal, best hit your brakes fast. Nice when your device catches some reflected light off another car, then youve got time. But MOST of the time, cops use K or KA band, and thats easy.

And no, the Valentine is NOT that good, Bel & Escort are better.

A good traffic officer should be looking for vehicles which appear to be speeding, and specifically clocking them. I can point the gun at the target car, pull the trigger and get the lock in about a second.

Scientific research has shown that speeders are also premature ejaculators :o

Also, I don't necessarily have to lock the speed in to write you. If you pop up at a speed and immediately start going down, I can write you for the speed you first popped up at.

See, now that's true, but after months or yrs of doing it, most cops just leave them on, or look at every vehicle... At least thats how it is out here.
