I'm happy with the stock pickups, but I haven't compared them to anything other than other stock strats I honestly couldn't stand the stock pickups. Since you're a bankin' lawyer and all, I'd suggest going for a Suhr of some sort. The quality is insane and it's all the strat you could ever want and more.
