Members masterbuilt
I just posted a new version of my song "Blue Waters" on my MySpace site. I have been experimenting with recording different ways and trying different mixes. This one has two Martin acoustic tracks, one Ibanez bass track, one lead guitar track, mini conga drum, lead and back-up vocal tracks. There is a "concert" ukulele track panned far left, too... just for a little bit of island flavor. http://www.myspace.com/mickeymaguirebluewaters The song is the default on the page. Members blue2blue
Hey, Mickey This is as relaxed as a slow sail across a sunny bay. I don't normally comment on lyrics unless they're posted somewhere but what I caught made perfect sense for the island casual mood. It's not really a songwriting issue but I think I'd nudge the vocals up in the mix, just a smidge and a half. And maybe dry them up a little to bring them forward. (For instance, "Wanting Some Sunshine," which followed in the player, has more of the feel I'm thinking of, vocal treatment-wise. But even there, I'd like it a little more dry and immediate. Heck, maybe I'm just on a dry-sound kick. But that's how I'm feeling. )
