Members Oblivion DC
Which way do you guys wire up your X pattern cabs, and why? http://www.soundcitysite.com/sc_webpages/series_parallel_x.pdf http://www.soundcitysite.com/sc_webpages/parallel_series_x.pdf
Members Slaymoar
I make it so the speakers form the smaller impedance if something was to give. So I parallel 2 x 8 ohm speakers, then parallel the other side, then series the pairs together to form the final 8 ohms. I have found with experience, that half the impedence is actually less damaging then twice the impedence in tube amps. As for SS amps, the opposite is true. EDIT: Series parallel equals to 8 + 16 ohms = 24ohms if one speaker blows. Parallel Series = 32 ohms As for power handling shift, both are fine. -D
Members knucklefux
my money is on "it doesn't matter". series/parallel=parallel/series:thu:
