Members Squiz
This is all I got so far. The boy looks through the glass,He stares right out my window. The girl will look right past,She remains a widow. You all will gasp,You're all estranged and weirdos. The truth remains in past,We don't want no mirrors

Moderators Lee Knight Posted November 2, 2009 Moderators Share Posted November 2, 2009 I like it. I'm just trying to figure out what it means. I get it on one level but I'm lost with... You all will gasp,You're all estranged and weirdos And also the the widow. Why does she remain a widow? Having said all that, I really like the way it sounds. And the way it sounds sometimes is really what you're looking for. Ask John Lennon. Still, to be able to understand what is happening might give it some needed depth. Or not? Members LeonardScaper
Well.... Were the boy to be looking out the window with the widow looking right past it might imply that he is a spirit.....a ghost....from her past. We may gasp to see such a thing.....hoping that it remains safely in the past and does not reflect upon us. Not sure either about 'weirdos' and I can't say that that word works for me. I also like the way the verse flows but I'm not keen on window/widow.

That's an interesting interpretation. I like it a lot.
Members LeonardScaper
I think the meaning to me is kinda different within each line. Often times an initial set of lyrics like this that seem a bit diverse but still reflect loosely on a theme can be used as building blocks for separate verses to help develop your story line.
