Rate my composition for a zombie game

OK... Half-Life, I got that much. ;)

 

I'm not sure how really to evaluate game music. I always turned the music off when I used to play games because it drove me crazy. But I guess a lot of these games have little preamble animations and such. (I always cut past those, too, when they first started popping up. They really irritated me.)

 

Anyhow, I'm gonna approach this more in the context of cinematic theme/mood music, and from that angle it seems pretty sensible. It's properly spooky, has a nice vibe in the vibey spots and the ambient, extra-spooky bits toward the end (which I suppose might be extended under game play or something?) sound properly ominous.

 

So, from the perspective of someone who dropped out of the game scene about the time Quake first popped up, it seems like this does a very good job, but you'll probably want to check with someone who's actually laid hands on a controller in the last decade. ;)
