Members silmaneero
You probably want "The Songwriting Secrets of the Beatles" by Dominic Pedler (Omnibus Press). Maybe also check out "Revolution in the Head" by Ian MacDonald.
Members Chicken Monkey
I expect you mean The Beatles as Musicians: http://www.amazon.com/Beatles-As-Musicians-Walter-Everett/dp/0195129415/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268822442&sr=8-1 It's a two-volume set by Walter Everett, who had a hand in the complete beatles transcriptions book that came out 10-15 years ago. He's got another one out I'm reading right now about rock music in general, but I can't recall the title. All great reads, if you have a basic grasp of theory. Moderators Lee Knight Posted March 17, 2010 Moderators Share Posted March 17, 2010 Jimmy Webb's Tunesmith is pretty good. When it is good it's great... but he doesn't really organize the info very logically. It's part biography, industry insider stuff sprinkled with some very deep and cool pop theory. It's worth wading through if you're a fan. Great musical mind, that guy.
