Members EC man
I'm re-tubing my 76 Pro Reverb I found a guy who will set the bias but said I should do a complete cap job True or False????
Members Slaymoar
76? Totally. I do it if its anything over 15 years old. Capacitors have the ugly tendency to drift and store less and less voltage. -D
Members Sixtonoize
If your amp has never had a cap job done before, now would be a good time.

Members JerryP
Change them! Caps don't always show signs of wear before they fail. Many times they don't. Modern production caps last a bit longer than the old stuff. 10-15 years is when I look to change them on older amps. You will notice a punchier tone with more clarity and better bottom end with new caps. Jerry
Members jerrydyer
+1 with JerryP... I just wanted to point out if cost is a concern, make sure he has an honest tech. Some push those cap replacements a little hastily.
