Members RiffDaemon
.... and the output tubes aren't at fault, then what could've happened? Power surge/spike? The last two times a fuse has blown, it's been due to a crappy power valve. This time seems different.
Members ~Abstract~
resistor was stressed from multiple tube failures and failed...blowing fuse. wildwild guess.
Members sled
you've got it backwards. a FUSE does not take anything out. something shorts and takes the FUSE out. what's the amp?
Members RiffDaemon
Hahaha, sorry - didn't mean to say the fuse destroyed something This happened in my JVM 410 combo
Members sled
which resistor? a Filament can short, but if the FUSE is properly sized, it should go first.
Members RiffDaemon
The Tech only wrote "replaced an open resistor in the filament power supply with a 450k" on the ticket so I'm not sure which one he could be talking about. I'm also at work and can't open up the amp here
Members sled
if all that was replaced is a resistor, it's very possible it's just and Act of God. meaning the component was marginal and finally failed.
