The silver one is the New Rising Sun II preamp/boost ~ very transparent, very clean boost. Your amp, but MOAR! The red one is the Fireball II, a dual overdrive pedal. It's a lovely overdrive, but it really, really shines as a boost, with the output level cranked and the gain knobs to-taste, but below noon. Members superflyinmonke Posted January 19, 2010 Members Share Posted January 19, 2010 Barber Direct Drive (Ver 3) or (Ver 4), at $119.95 New, Fuller, Keeley, Ibanez, Maxon, and BBE can't touch the price and quality of parts in this handwired boost/overdrive. How do you tell what version it is? I have one and I hate it. It makes a crunchy buzzing noise that I can't stand. No transparency at all.
