Basic Amp/Guitar Settings help needed

I did a search to not rehash a subject, but I don't see any posts like my question. I know it may sound dumb, but "call a spade a spade" I am on this. Can someone point me to any help to fast track learn on getting different sounds from my Casino and Vox AC4TV w/o extra electronics. I've played with vol up on git and down on amp, visa versa, differences with neck, both, and back pickup etc. I didn't know if there was just a "Dummy Book on how to get basic guitar Sounds" or something like that. Maybe some basic guidelines that "when you do this, that happens type of stuff I guess is what I mean.

Thanks in advance for any help or direction.

Teh regulars will hate me for answering a n00b's question, but here goes.
I have no idea what you're asking but try this: (tone knob means the one on the guitar, not your amp)

Jazz: Neck pickup. Tone knob at 1 - 5 Amp at 2 - 4
Country: Bridge pickup. Tone at 10. Amp at 2 - 3
Rock: Both (or either) pickup. Tone(s) on Ten. Amp volume to taste
Metal: Bridge pickup. Volume on 10, tone on 10, amp volume all the way up. Turn the OP knob down to reduce the volume if needed.

There's no hard and fast rules here. Just experiment and see if you can find any tones you like. The "tone controls" on guitars really aren't tone controls - they just kill the treble. I leave mine on 10 almost all the time. Try searching on YouTube, there seems to be a video for everything these days. Maybe look for a Vox AC4 demo. Good luck, n00b. :thu::)

Thanks for having some mercy on the "newbie" to the forum. Will try the you tube and play with the amp more. My Fender Blues Deluxe has a lot more voices it seems but was just to damn loud to get any good effects out of it. Maybe I need a good Weber Attenuation unit.

Thanks again.
