Members arcadesonfire
Hi folks, I'm going into the studio with my band, steel phantoms, on Friday to begin recording our first album. I'm thinking about the best way to record my delay. I play through a Traynor Bassmaster (which is a plexi clone), and i push it to get a fairly OD'd dry sound. I have an Eventide TimeFactor and i use it live, with the mix set verrry low. But in the studio, i want to record the basic tracks dry and then add delay on its own track. Does anybody record a DI'd signal along with the dry amp, and then send recording of the DI to a %100-wet delay and then send that to an amp? Could that make for some cool sounds? I'm interested in hearing the wet delay through my Traynor, dirty. Or is it best to just insert the delay on the mic'd-amp track? I might use my Eventide, but the studio has both an echoplex and a space echo, woohoo! Thanks everybody. (ps. if you listen to our myspace, that's not me on those recordings. I think my tone will be way better)
Members guitarbilly74
just record it completely dry and add the effect at mix down.
