Members dgc480
Hey, I bought 6L6GC tubes from the tube store that are rated at 17. However, I don't know how high or how low the numbers go, so there's no way for me to know if this is rated high or low on the scale. Anyone know the number system for the tubestore? All I know is lower numbers mean quicker breakup. I can't get in touch with the tubestore and this question is just nagging at me... Thanks! Members JKD
Send them an email...have always been very helpful to me. I think most of my 6L6GC type tubes have been in 16-18 range and I usually request 'normal' rating.
Members dgc480
Ok that's good to hear. Maybe it was the preamp tubes I put in that lowered my headroom. They are Ruby Tubes 12AX7AC7 HGs. Makes me feel a lot better to know that 17 is in the normal range though. thanks alot. btw: I have emailed them, still waiting on a reply. They're on holiday this monday
