Members sleewell
here is what i am using these days... engl e530 > mesa 50/50 > avatar 4x12.:love: it sounds freakin great, i truly love this setup but its really, really loud. maybe i am too old, i dunno, but the more you crank it the better it sounds but I am playing some smaller rooms and being that loud is not necessary:poke:. any way to re-tube the mesa to get less power? or should i just pony up and get a thd hot plate?? if so, are there any better attenuators out there?? thanks!! Members TU BE
If you are happy with the tone, just get a hotplate and call it good. It's either that or get a lower wattage amp where you can crank it, work the toobz and still not damage people's hearing.

Members grunge782
When I had my engl e530 and my Carvin TS100 I loved the sound. I also had an eq in the loop and I lowered the overall gain/volume on that, and got great tones at lower volumes. To be honest with that setup I would just lower the volume on my Engl and poweramp sometimes and it still sounded pretty good The only way to get really good tones to just what you want at low volumes I have found is with digital gear, otherwise you are just going to have to sacrifice something along the way.
