Generic footswitch for 5150

Guys, what kind of generic footswitch will work with the 5150? I already ordered a OEM footswitch online but I have a gig tonight. I though the one from my Peavey Classic would work but it doesn't.

if you're just changing channels, a mono latching switch ought to work.

 

i'm actually kind of surprised the classic switch doesn't work...it's just a TRS cable and a 2 button switch, right?

you can mod it to work if you are really in a hurry just find the schematic

Yes, I am surprised too. It's a TRS cable and 2 switches with LEDs. (It's not the OEM Classic switch either but it works fine with that amp)

 

And yes, I just need to switch channels. I will buy a generic 1-button switch then.

 

I guess the Boss FS5L would do?

just to be sure that a mono switch will work, plug an instrument cable into the switch jack and short the sleeve to the tip.

 

no sense buying something that won't help...

Yeah, generally the generic latching ones work.

 

Lol, I think my 5150 FS been in a closet for like 7 years.

 

The Boss ones are pretty good. I have one of these in the closet also because it came with my Recto..

I ended up buying a 2-button Live Wire footswitch. It works fine.

 

All set for tonight's gig Very excited to play with the 5150 live.

I use a custom switch with my 5150 and the footswitching part is on the 'ring'.

So you need a stereo TRS cable even if you only want to switch that 1 function.

 

Standard mono switches the fx loop only
