Members Chrisjd
Hi all. The strap knob on one of my guitars has stripped and the screw is very loose inside. what can i do to fix this to make it secure and keep it tightly screwed in there? Members BuckyB
Remove the screw and strap button. Dip a wooden toothpick in wood glue and gently tap it into the screw hole. Let it dry overnight. Cut off the excess toothpick. If there's still a large enough hole, just screw the strap button back on. Otherwise, drill a small hole first, right in the same spot. Members chrisandronna
I've had this happen many times with guitars, I use wood filler, you can get it at any hardware store or even target or walmart, you just push it in with a toothpick, wipe off the excess and let it dry for 24 hours and then screw the button right back in. I've never had it fail yet.
