Members troyri
This is my back up so I would like to keep it fairly cheap. Basswood bodied humbucker. Currently have a evolution in it but it sounds thin to my ears. Looking for recommendations on a darker bridge pick up for rock to heavy rock. Members jn062181
I put a DiMarzio Super 3 in my Hamer Californian (Maple body, maple neck - quite bright in stock form). It helped to tame the brightness a lot. Also +1 to the Breeds.

Members Filter500
I love the Evolution but I agree it's bad in Basswood. The Super Distortion is a perfect match, though.

Members troyri
Maybe bright is the wrong word. I do find the evolution to be very thin to my ears. So how bout thick, not dark?

I had it in a mahogany guitar and was all WTF, sounded like a bass guitar. It should suit you perfectly.

Members Cougar Hunter
Tone Zone? I've never played a tone zone equipped axe that sounded any good. I've tried/owned/swapped/etc MANY Tone Zones. They never sound quite right to me.
Members BryanFTWL
Scratch that I said that then. I've never had any experience with it, but always hear it's pretty dark and fat.
Members Filter500
Cool pickup, but I have yet to put one in the right guitar. ( Have you tried it in basswood? I went from an Evolution to a Super Distortion in basswood and it completely fixed my problem. I've tried the SD in other woods and didn't like it.
