Lots of people think songs without singing is not a song. Tell Beethoven that and he'll kick your ass!



They aren't. They are called Music Piece, or Opus, Piece, or you just call them by their name.
The term SONG comes after the late 18th century and 19 century german LIEDs (which means song). Most of these songs were Romantic (Romantic period, not cheesy romantic :poke:). Although these weren't the first sung pieces, (Opera was before, and Gregorian Chants way before, amongst others) they were the ones that 'set the stone' on the whole sing and SONG songs...
