Members maiden_fan
My friend and I recorded some clips today comparing our different cabs to see how they all reacted under the mic. All recordings are done with a single SM57 with the same settings on the amp, give or take a nudge moving the amp/cabs around. Cabs as follows: Marshall 1960ahw with G12H30'sZilla Fatboy with LynchbacksFramus CS212 with V30's Amp is a Marshall JVM50h with either a Charvel in Eb for the 80's clips with a Dimarzio SD or a Charvel with a Crunch Lab for the Heavy clips. No eq on the guitar tracks, there is a little delay on the 'Heavy' clips but not on the rythmn guitars and there is some reverb on the 80's style clip. Members Keebz
The mix between the Lynchbacks Heavy and 80's seem completely different...the 80's mix was brighter and the heavy mix was dull. Overall, I really liked the H30!
Members Zeppelin Rules
Lynchbacks seem to sound very similar to the V30s in the midrange.
Members 11justin22
Thought the lynchback and v30 were similar meaning both had aggressive mids.
Members benjamin801
Liked the V30 best, but any of the three (or any mix of two of the three) would be great. Also, the 80s riff made me want to spin drum sticks.
Members maiden_fan
I really dig the V30, but the G12-H30 was my favourite. So easy to play and record. I mixed the G12 and the V30 this morning, have a listen: http://soundcloud.com/charveltony/heavy-v30-g12-h30
Members charveldan
The H30 seemed dark and undefined compared to the other 2. The Lynchback was similar to the V30 but the Lynchback had a better breakup, i prefered the LB to the others in those clips. charveldan > charveltony
Members tech21man
H30 for this comparison! Thanks for taking the time and effort. It had the fuller sound of the three but I don't really like brighter speakers. I haven't expected the V30 to come of as bright.
Members benjamin801
Can you give us an idea of how loud the amp was in the room? I ask because V30s are notorious for starting out thin and bright and getting fatter as you crank them.

Members richedie
I already have two V30s in my Bogner 212 that sound incredible and best high powered Greenbacks I have are the WGS Invaders. Those Celestion G12H30s kill. Even better are the WGS Reaper 50 paired with a WGS Retro or Vet 30.
